Position Descriptions
Tour Docent
Tour Docent volunteers are trained in Pensacola History. They guide visitors through the homes of Historic Pensacola Village, talk about the history and significance of the homes, and educate visitors about the early history of Pensacola.
Visitor Services Desk Attendants
Those who serve as Visitor Services Desk Attendants provide a pleasant welcome to all visitors. These volunteers sell museum admission tickets and distribute informational brochures to visitors. Desk Attendants must be informed about Historic Pensacola's facilities, and other area attractions.
Collections Management
Collections Management volunteers work behind the scenes, assisting curatorial staff in caring for Historic Pensacola's collections. Trained volunteers research, identify, and catalogue artifacts, as well as help with exhibit preparation. Volunteers may also be trained to assist with cleaning and repairing objects.
Living History Reenactors
Living History Reenactors demonstrate a number of the skills that early settlers needed to survive in Pensacola. Volunteers demonstrate such skills as spinning, weaving, candle making, fire starting, woodworking, colonial cooking, and historic games and toys. To volunteer in this position requires a great devotion to learning and accurately imitating the skills of the colonial era.
